Our research involves an interdisciplinary approach combining psychophysiologists, neuroscientists, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, a cardiothoracic surgeon, and theoretical and computational physicists from the University of California, San Diego; The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla; University of California, Los Angeles; University of Catania, Italy; University of Ferrara, Italy, and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Our work is leading to new discoveries about the brain, heart, intersystem physiology, noninvasive approaches for the clinical treatment of psychiatric disorders, methods for improving normal brain function, and the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
